The Andouille (an•dou•ille | \än•´dü•e)
Trail is a unique culinary byway that will introduce you to our contribution to Louisiana cuisine.
You'll find producers with wooden smokehouses, recipes that have been handed down for generations, and restaurants serving up andouille in traditional and inventive new ways. Download the info or check out the trail!

A short video
Lots of good spots on this trail, kinda reminds me of the Boudin trail.

The boudin trail focuses on places that make boudin.
The andouille trail does not—plenty of the places listed are just restaurants that happen to have an item or 2 on the menu that contains andouille. Like Coffee & in Norco...it’s just a garden variety cafe that serves chicken and andouille gumbo. Nothing I’d drive across town for, but an okay optioN if you need to have lunch in Norco. Seems pretty random, too, as the St Rose Tavern makes excellent okra/andouille gumbo and it’s not on the list.
It’s straight up tourism promotion, with no true assessment of what’s good or any attempt to be comprehensive. Who knows why the tourist commission includes one place and excludes another. Hell, Truck Farm Tavern is on the list and it was closed all summer and just reopened a week or two ago.

That's really neat. Will have to try some of them.
Have had andouille from one of the places off Airline in LaPlace and Verons in Lutcher. Both good but IMO, not in the same league as Rabideaux's (Iowa, LA).

Anyone want to give their top-3 or top-5?

Top place for me is La Bon Boucon in back Vacherie. Andouille is pretty good, but Lester is a mad scientist when it comes to his other sausages. Love using his smoked garlic sausage for jambalaya and gumbos. His best sausage to me is his Blueberry Honey sausage, amazing for breakfast or his honey bee sausage. Would highly recommend joining La Bon Boucon Facebook group, post pictures almost everyday of his sausages and meats.
What I’ve seen at the store:
Meat sticks
Tri tip roast
Ribeyes
Home made chili
Fresh and smoke sausages
Fresh ground filé

I've been to Wayne Jacob's, Jacob's and Bailey's and would rank them in that order. Next, I'd like to try Don's and the La Bon Boucon mentioned above sounds like another target.

+1, everything Lester does he does well, great stop but supply can be limited as he gets cleaned out fast!

D&J's Grocery in Gonzales is better than any of those on that list in my opinion.

I've been to La Bon Boucon, I bought and tried a good variety of his stuff and wasn't really impressed. I think his maudlin is interesting but overrated.
I much prefer Bailey's, Wayne Jacobs and Veron's supermarket(not the Veron's mass produced). Juneau's in Marksville makes some really good andouille.
Now Tasso, hard to beat Bailey's!
