From today's advocate.

"Counterspace BR, a new bakery led by owner Sarah Hays, will open in the gourmet food hall on June 17. Counterspace replaces Mike Mangham's Southern Plate."

Says the guy who showed up on a Sunday before most of the vendors had Sunday hours and turned around and left.

Rumor is that the Southern Plate closing was more for personal reasons than business.

They never officially opened, was serving food for the soft openings and private events but once the market opened on Thursday they shut down. My understanding is they were having financial issues.

Their closing has nothing to do with whether or not WSM is a viable long-term project... They were closed when I went a week after WSM opened.

If the vendors can put out good food and do so consistently then it will absolutely be successful.

Something tells me you appear to be rooting pretty hard against this place. Aside from Southern Plate inexplicably closing they seem to be doing pretty well.
