That’s your own fault. I bet they don’t feel uncomfortable. Nothing wrong with saying “no thanks” and moving on.

Eggnog....as a young kid my aunt use to serve it whenever we went to her house over the holidays
Even as an adult I can't stand the smell of it...

Aunt makes a macaroni and cheese.
It consists of a pan of dried up spaghetti noodles topped with a little cheddar cheese and baked in the oven.
It's literally plain noodles topped with very little cheese. No salt, no pepper, no butter, no cream or anything. The cheeses isn't even mixed into the noodles.

I think that’s something only us skinny females can get away with, Cork. People don’t question when we say no because they think we don’t eat any food anyway
I notice the males are given a hard time when they don’t take food.

My aunt makes a veal cutlet that’ll put a whole in your colon the size of a crater.

My parents do this with pears instead of pineapple
(Not on holidays either)
Worst side to me is corn casserole

The one where they pour in cream of mushroom soup and a bunch of crap then top with crispy onions or something.
Old people love dumping soup into everything. An older co-worker of mine was cooking at my house and started dumping cans of soup into a crawfish soup he was making. I was just thinking "you're adding soup to soup..."
Old people are strange

Whoever came up with the green peas and raw onions in mayo should be shot! That shite used to show up at Thanksgiving until my brothers gave our relative that brought it enough shite that it has disappeared. We got the if you don't like it how about you make an extra dish response. We took that deal

IL (rip) used to make oyster dressing a few weeks before thanksgiving and then freeze it. She then took it out in Thanksgiving Day and reheated in the microwave. Frozen and reheated oysters were a site to behold
This is funny - I am a member of a Facebook cooking/recipe group and a woman was on there several days ago posting pics of the oyster dressing she had just made, saying how it “freezes well” and she can use it on Thanksgiving and future occasions

The pears with a dollop of mayo and shredded cheddar on top (and sometimes a maraschino cherry) is delicious

I host most Thanksgiving get togethers for my family. Every damn year my BIL calls dibs on the merliton dressing. It's horrible. Large chucks of unskinned merliton that haven't been drained.
The kicker is, I make an awesome merliton dressing butbhave to hide it till they head out.

Make yours too. You don’t have to tell him that you are ahead of time. Just do it. Perhaps he will get the hint when everyone eats yours and not his.

My stepsister always makes the green bean casserole and it gets worse by the year. Yesterday, it was like she dumped a bag of fresh green beans without snapping them into a Pyrex, poured the soup and onions over the top and warmed (not cooked) it. I really don't want that dish served al dente
