I just wanted to say a public thank you to Icansee4miles and all the FBD guys/gals on the Food and Drink Board.

I posted about a possible beer trade just a few days before heading down to Louisiana for the holidays, and he kicked into high gear and made it happen. Rouge was similarly helpful and accommodating last year.

Thanks for your generosity and willingness to drive out to meet a guy who only has 15 posts on his internet resume. I look forward to the opportunity to sit down for a beer in person in the future!

I was trying to keep our meeting at a hotel in Minden a secret!

I can speak for the many members of the FBD Krewe in saying that we all enjoy meeting people that share our enthusiasm for good craft beer, and you definitely fit the bill. My only regret was that my schedule was too tight for us to sit down and hoist a couple right then. You are going to be a great addition to our BXN-right up there with Wiltz, Jax, and Dean, all of whom I've been lucky enough to meet this year. A real beer lover, and a great guy to boot.

You obviously have access to some great beer that we don't, so put me down for a N. LA meet for next year. We will keep encouraging Parish and NOLA and Tin Roof and other local breweries to step up their games so we've got more to trade.

That's how it all starts. You make one little beer trade during a road trip then boom. You start meeting dudes from the Internet for beers on a regular basis. You start spending lots of money on beers, you order them online and convince yourself $50 for shipping is a good deal. You start taking pictures of every beer you drink and start posting them online. Then one day photobucket starts acting up and you lose your cool. Welcome to the drug.

Wise, you nailed it. My first IRL was Kim, when I invited him to come grab some goodies out of my bunker and he introduced me to so many great guys off the board that have become good friends, though I call them my expensive friends.

That said, life is too short to drink bad beer and guys like pete are helping ensure I don't have to.

Hey guys, what's your favorite place for an in person beer swap?

Rouge and I met by the Chic Fil-a dumpster on Siegen once. I'd recommend that to anyone in the area.
