I just wanted to say a public thank you to Icansee4miles and all the FBD guys/gals on the Food and Drink Board. I posted about a possible beer trade just a few days before heading down to Louisiana for the holidays, and he kicked into high gear and made it happen. Rouge was similarly helpful and ...
Hey beer folks, Just a shot in the dark here. I'm headed from my home in Chicago to northeast Louisiana later this week for the holidays, and I'm just now making a last-minute, halfhearted effort for a beer meetup (last Christmas was my first [successful!] beer trade ever, thanks to TD). I onl...

Rouge gave me Pro-Am (tasty) and Buried Hatchet (so-so). Oddly, Southern Star distributes to Illinois and I've randomly had a couple of their other beers over the last couple of years in Chicago (nothing notable). Do you recommend them?...

Ooh, 4BD is Lakewood The Temptress. (Of course, Rouge-provided, may he continue to keep and bless us all.) Behind Endeavour, but neck and neck with Real Ale Black Quad near the top of the heap of my LA/TX haul. Keep up the good work, southern brewers....

1-3BD were Santa Fe Java Imperial Java Stout, Lazy Magnolia Timber Beast, and Southern Star Pro-Am. I'm posting today to give beerthanks to Rouge. I live in Chicago, and he met me in Louisiana over the holidays for a trade and gave me a ton of new beer, including these three. If you have a chance...
OK, I might need to update my list with Pipeworks Galaxy Unicorn. I feel like a beer hipster--this beer makes me want to say "Yea, I liked Citra hopped beers a long time ago. Now I'm into Galaxy hops -- you've probably never heard of them."...
I should be able to get more Dreadnaught and Arctic Panzer Wolf without a problem. I cannot get Dark Lord. If that's cool, email me and we can discuss!...
Alright, last call! I'll be bringing Rouge some Bourbon County, Zombie Dust, Dark Horse Crooked Tree, five other 3 Floyds beers, and two new Pipeworks beers from Chicago. If anyone else can manage a holiday meetup in North Louisiana and wants some quality Midwest beers for a friendly trade, le...
Great lists! A quick stab at my favorite new beers of 2012: 1. 2010 Goose Island Juliet 2. Goose Island Bourbon County Cherry Rye 3. Cigar City Humidor Series Peach IPA 4. 2011 Three Floyds Dark Lord 5. Haymarket Rubber Monkey 6. Half Acre Double Daisy Cutter 7. Revolution Double Fist 8. 20...
Thanks for the heads up. Looks like they're shooting for Summer 2013, though I've never seen a brewery open on schedule (I'm not sure if that's Chicago politics or just the nature of the over-regulated beast that is beer in America). ...
Unfortunately, Haymarket is only on draft at the brewpub and at festivals. If you make the trip to Chicago, definitely stop by and try Mathias, their imperial IPA. But pretty much everything Pete Crowley makes is great, and most of their beers are Belgian-style. They've been a great addition to the...
F machine, Rouge, and Zappos: Sorry for the delay in responding. I'm arriving on the 22nd--I could meet up on the 22nd (at night), 23rd, or 24th. I should be able to make it to Shreveport, no problem. And yes, I can get 3 Floyds. However, please let me know what you'd want. For example, I can...
Salmon: Unfortunately, it'll likely be Thanksgiving next year before I make it back down. If you can execute a successful hearts and minds campaign in the home over the next week or so, we can make it happen. F machine: I'm flying down, but will have access to a car. I'll be based in the Monroe a...
Johnny's Pizza is real life science fiction. For $10, I can travel back through time and relive my entire childhood in 15 minutes. As for beer, I'd love to introduce someone to some of my Chicago favorites that can/bottle--Half Acre, Revolution, Pipeworks, 5 Rabbit, Metropolitan, Wild Onion (and ...
Hey, long time Food and Drink Board lurker here. I live in Chicago but will be visiting family in Northeast Louisiana around Christmas. Is anyone interested in meeting up for a beer trade? I have a 4-pack of 2012 Goose Island Bourbon County (not a variant, just plain ol' BCS). I'm also happy ...
