Thanks from the bottom of my heart to all of you for the help you offered for my friend with esophageal cancer. He passed yesterday after two days in hospice, but ate and drank so well after his diagnosis because of your recipes and recommendations. He went out on his own terms, and was surrounded by friends.

Sorry for your loss, and thank you for sharing the news, and for standing by your friend. May we all be so lucky to have someone thoughtful and caring in our final days.

Hungryone,

The last thing he ate was a chocolate souffle drenched in good bourbon--that was such a great suggestion. Thanks.

Gris Gris,

I made him 3 batches of the butternut squash shrimp bisque--amazing. Every time I make it again, I'll think of him. Thanks for that gift.

Rouge,

His initials were not LJ. And I'm sorry your dick is so small.

My cousin's initials are LJ. He died yesterday. Wanted to see if I know you IRL. By the small dick comment, we obviously dated.

This board is really awesome. A positive effect on the end of someone’s life. I really hope anyone with similar ailments searching for comfort comes across that thread through a browser or similar search.

Prayers to you and your friend and glad you reached out to the board.

Curds,

This board is really awesome and I agree--that thread could really help other folks with esophageal cancer. Great recipes and ideas--it was obvious people put a lot of care and thought into how to feed him well. It was such a gift.

I'm sorry your cousin passed of esophogeal cancer yesterday, Rouge. Thought you were messing with me and didn't get it. My mistake.

I'm glad it helped you help him. I didn't realize the end was so imminent. Very sad to hear of his passing.

I'm sure it's very hard, but I'm certain you have great memories to look back on even near the end.

That is good to hear though. He was lucky to have such a great friend to make the end the best it could be.

Thank Chef Frank Brigtsen for the soup. I merely shared it. I’m so glad he and you enjoyed it.
