Hands down the best Thai food I’ve had in the US.
I’ve eaten loads of Thai food in almost every major city, I even lived in Singapore for six months and traveled to Thailand countless times.
If you are in Houston, DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE
Their Tom Yum will change your life

I eat Thai a lot and still never tried Tom Yum. I usually get curries or stir fry.
What exactly is Tom yum? It tags like a curry.

I'll definitely check it out next time I'm in town.

Their massaman curry was also killer! Best I've ever had.
Tom Yum is a soup with lemongrass, galangal (ginger), shrimp, load of other spices.
It's tasty at most Thai restaurants although they water it down and use pastes to make it.
Here it was next level unique and amazing...made from scratch and you could tell.
Stock photo of what it should look like... I didn't snap a pic from this place though.

Friend,
Your recommendation has inspired me to book a trip to Houston to try Street to Kitchen. It will be my second visit to Houston since completing TulaneLSU's Top 10 Mexican eateries in Houston. I took several posters' advice and tried El Tiempo, which did not reach the height boasted of in other reviews. In honesty, I found it inferior to and about 2.5x as expensive as Metairie's Casa Garcia.
Street to Kitchen has been on the radar for a couple of years, but your post has sealed the deal. Thank you.
Sincerely,
TulaneLSU

I am flattered. Their "mild" is what other US restaurants would call "Medium", so order your spice level wisely.
Another noteworthy comment - they do not accommodate any substitutions or modifications to their menu items.... so you get what you get.
They stake their reputation on their product, and you will soon find out why.
Happy eats!

I'm sure the food is good, and they usually have a line of people when they go to the Urban Harvest Farmer's Market every Saturday...but I can't get past how overt they are with their politics.
Sao Lao Thai Cafe will get my business.

Get over yourself and just go eat some good food. No need to talk to the waiter about anything other than what to bring you.

It's not the waitstaff...it's the owners being completely over the top...from COVID until now.
Hasn't stopped.
But I'm glad you enjoyed your meal.
