so it is more of a buffet type place ? i was thinking it was going to be like a fogo de chao where you sit at the table and they bring the meats around and you flip your colored disc to let them know you want more
For all intents and purposes it is a buffet where they simply bring the buffet to your table. Ie, eat as much as you want, not cooked to order, assembly line type eating. Not even comparable to a normal steakhouse, and I mean that in a bad way.
I can see why these places would have their fans, so don't mean to disparage them, but it's just not a nice place to eat IMO. But I've only been to the one in Dallas, so maybe others are better/different.

I think he understands that as he listed that he thought it was more like Fogo which it is the exact same thing.

Treated a couple of people to dinner there tonight.
The salad bar was pretty nice, although I didn't want to fill up on anything, stuck to black beans and rice and some excellent au gratin potatoes.
The meats were really good, all of the cuts of beef including the filet mignon were tender and moist. The only thing that might have even seemed halfway dry was the lamb and maybe the bacon-wrapped chicken, but I stuck mostly to steak, which was really good. Service from the waitress and water servers was fine, service from the gauchos was a little mixed. You'd have three or four of them show up within a minute or two, but at least once or twice I'd have to wait a bit for someone to come around. For a week night, the main rooms were almost full, a few large groups showing up.
The 50% off coupon made a nice dent in the ticket, but we split the tip and applied it to what would have been the regular total for the waitstaff's benefit. It was definitely worth going with a coupon, I wouldn't be as likely to go there at regular price, not yet at least. It is a good restaurant, but didn't quite compare to Fogo de Chao.
And Gilson is, in fact, the General Manager there

Y2Flu was nice enough to post it, I called the Perkins Rowe location in advance to make sure that they'd accept it.
Most of the people there were dressed up, a number of the younger women that showed up were in Wine Loft attire (pumps and skirts). The patrons were overwhelmingly 20 and 30-somethings.
I'm sure Saturdays will be swinging there.

Seems a lot of Perkins Rowe restaurants open this way, without a lot of hoopla. Wonder if the developer is supposed to help and just doesn't or if that is the way they like it.
There's going to be one big grand opening once everything is in there. It was mostly supposed to all come together at once but with the economic downturn (which really started a lot earlier than most think) financing problems for the various tenants has created a more piece-meal opening rather than all at once.

So all you have to do is print the coupon from above and that is accepted??

Yep, give it to them when they bring you the check. Your server will bring it to the manager to knock 50% off of your bill, though drinks and tax are supposed to be excluded from the discount.
We still tipped around 25% of what the total would have been, had a discount not been applied.

My roomate works there and I hate him so I wouldn't go.
But if you have to don't leave a big tip.

They don't apply the 50% off on these days automatically? You have to show this coupon? It really isn't a coupon. More of an advertisement.

Apparently not. Whomever answered the phone there had to doublecheck with someone else on the coupon, I had to describe what it was for. The server specifically mentioned getting the manager to approve the discount as well.

Thanks
I am going to check this place out next Monday or Tuesday.
