so what does this tell you ?
1. Over priced
2. Likely customers will not go eat at your place UNLESS there is a coupon offered.

Someone's being generous, providing coupons for free that offer a savings for a pretty outstanding meal.

That only dumb asses pay full price.. That the place really isnt overpriced but that they dont mind if you are willing to give them more money..
As I have always said all these places Fogo and Texas De Brazil and the likes should never be paid for at full price because they all offer deals almost every month.

yeah .. but think about it ... what if, say ruth's chris all of a sudden offered coupons for 1/2 price meals on every monday and tuesday in january .. it certainly plants a seed in the old mind as to why am i paying full price on other days, then ..

To be honest, I don't really think that much about it. If 45 bucks is too much for me to justify spending, I'll consider taking a coupon for half that and check em out.

Your response is exactly what Im saying..
Lets say you take the coupon and enjoy it, you would be an idiot not to wait for another coupon to eat there again.
It will help business out in the begining BUT people will expect them! The business they do on a month to month basis will be directly related to the coupon promotion.

You're not understanding what I'm saying.. I don't think that much about it. i don't live my life around coupons or thinking about eating where I do or don't have a coupon.. Maybe I am an idiot, but coupons only slightly influence where I eat.. they don't determine for me where I won't eat, because I don't have a coupon.

in my opinion .. and we all have them .. i think the place is overpriced at full price for what you get .. that is MY opinion .. others have different opinions and i hope there is enough of them out there to keep the place in business .. at 50% off, it's right about where it should be price-wise ... and yes, i can afford to eat out where i want to, when i want before some hop on here with the "it sounds like you don't need to be eating out" shite ... in fact, i eat out prolly five or six nights a week ...
this place just doesn't float my boat at $45 a head for a salad bar and bites of meat ... when someone comes out of the gate right after they are open offering 50% off coupons on monday and tuesday in the first two out of three months they are open, this tells me a lot about the perception of the place .. you'll enjoy it with the coupon, but will feel like an idiot if you pay full price for it later on ..

I think it may be that Monday and Tuesday are slow nights and they're running specials to get folks in the door.
and if anybody responded to your opinion and personal beliefs with something like that.. well.. probly not the person we'd be going out to dinner with, wouldn't ya say?

Feature review in today's Fun Section in The Advocate. Got good reviews. Thinking about taking my two teenage boys this Monday. So I have this straight (having done Fago de Chao in Houston, but not this chain), I CAN choose not to try certain skewers right (no intention of eating sausage, when my freezer is full of Benoits' venison sausage)?

FWIW the coupons have absolutely zero to do with the place just opening in BR. These are nation wide promotions they are running. Plus if you give them your bday or anniversary you eat for free. I enjoy the place its a different atmosphere and the food is good. For 45 there are certainly better places available for the money but I consider this a special occasion place. For a special occasion I wouldnt mind spending the 45 a head. (Of course they help out too by giving you a coupon for 2 special occasions types) Just to have a decent dinner though I would rather wait until I had the 50% off.

At Fogo, you are REQUIRED to take some of EVERTHING you are offered?

No At Fogo, you can pass on anything you don't want..

Yeah just wanted to add that like the guy said before this isn't a local promotion. I went to the one in Memphis and signed up on their email list and received this coupon today. I went to the one in Baton Rouge a couple of weeks ago as well. I went on a Thursday and waited an hour and a half to get in. I don't think they are struggling to fill seats, maybe Monday and Tuesday are slower. The food is great the price is high, but to me $50 bucks a person is high. I pay this for Hibachi food as well. Nice to have every couple of weeks. I will definitely try to make it their this month with the half off coupon. Bring your appetite and like i found out the hard way your reservation.
