and if anybody responded to your opinion and personal beliefs with something like that.. well.. probly not the person we'd be going out to dinner with, wouldn't ya say?

you know what i mean, hoss ... there are a lot of people on here that can't handle their opinions disagreed with or for some reason because you say you feel like you are overpaying for something it unearths some sort of inner guilt inside of them ... i've gotten that response prolly 5 or 6 times on here ... like i said earlier, i eat out a lot during the week and just chuckle at it ... not everyone is going to like every restaurant ... there are some restaurants on here that get rave reviews that i just think are plain flat out nasty ... but i'm not going to jump in the thread and tell those that like it that they are idiots, tools, douches, etc ...

so what does this tell you ?

That we are in a depression and they are sucking wind.

I'll use the coupon though just to give it a try. I like eating out early and mid week anyway.

Been twice, both times with coupons, excellent service, excellent food both times. Is a little pricey w/o coupon but certainly IMO not outrageous.

yeah .. that's obvious from the website .. it is just unusual to see a restaurant just cut its price in half two nights out of the week on basically its only "menu item" .. you might as well wave a red flag and yell "there's a perception out there that we are overpriced" ..

great deal

at 50% off, hell yeah it is a great deal ..

it's not outrageous, but in the back of your mind you are thinking "why am i paying twice the money for this on wednesday than i did last tuesday with a coupon" ..

I went last night with my dad and Christ almighty, we had an hour and a half wait. So after about 20 minutes, we left and went to Sammys.

I am going to go back but make reservations. I didn't think this many people go out to eat on a Monday night.

When its one of their 2 special nights a week you ALWAYS need to make reservations. At least call ahead and see what it looks like.

I remember a case study in one of my marketing classes back in the day where cereal manufactures sold more cereal at a higher total price with a coupon than at a lower price without a coupon. People love to think they're getting a deal.

The business they do on a month to month basis will be directly related to the coupon promotion.

In Atlanta Fogo de Chao is about the only one I've seen that's good enough to not do coupons. And if you can swing lunch, most Churrascarias have a M-F lunch for about $20 - $25 and it's pretty much the same as dinner minus one or two cuts of meat.

Fogo de Chao is the only chain over here that is remotely comparable to the places I ate in Rio.

There was another good one in ATL...soemthing with an "M..."

I say that entirely depends on the Fogo location.. The Fogo in Houston is pretty much on the same level as TDB in Baton Rouge. The TDB in Dallas is MUCH better than both. And the Fogo in Atlanta is better than the TDB in Dallas.

Only done Fogo in ATL...they are the only one that has locations in Brazil as well FWIW.

Sheema or something like that is the place in ATL now that I think about it.

They seem to both hire a bunch are brazilians anyway so I dont think Fogo having a couple of locations in Brazil does much they serve almost identical food. I consider it a draw for the most part. Fogo in Atlanta is just very consistent which puts them at the top. But like I said in another review one of the skewers of Flank I had at TDB in BR was better than anything that I had at La Boca (although not technically brazillian) too it was perfect. But then the next go around it was not as good.. They are new and suffer from inconsistency. The Dallas location had it and hopefully the BR location will develope it. I just think that if you took 10 trips to both Fogo and TDB and both were consistent then its pretty much a draw.

After loading up in the real thing in Brazil, these just don't have that much appeal to me...but I can see how one would like it. I guess I just burnt out on them...we ate it every other day in Brazil.

I ate at a seafood one in Brazil too...Marius Crustasceous (sp?)...my 17 (rock)lobster total only ranked third at our table.

Elleshoe,

It's 50 percent off for up to 6 people excluding alcohol on Mondays and Tuesdays in January.
