Has anyone been since they went to hand made tortillas and smoked pulled pork and brisket tacos? The tacos are better than they have ever been since they opened. If you haven't eaten there in the last 2 months then give it a shot and try the pulled pork and smoked brisket taco.

Went today for the first time. I was very impressed with the food. The owner asked how we heard about them and I said we drove buy and I looked up resturant on tigerdroppings and decided to give it a shot. He said that 225 wrote an article because of tigerdroppings and it doubled his business so good job guys. I hope this place stays around.

Haven't been in a while either. I do remember it being pretty pricey for what I got so I think that's why I haven't been back.

I went several times when they first opened... Tried alot of items but didnt find anything I really liked. Wife & I are regulars at La Tiendita and I go to Mr Taco often when she isnt with me..... Just didnt think Taco Chops was as good. Asked my wife what she remembered about our visits... And said "I didnt, not like it."

Not bad, just not memorable. We go to La Tiendita for their salsa and my wife loves tostadas there... I like several of their tacos (Barbacoa, carnitas, lengua, pastor). I go to Mr Taco for her barbacoa tacos & salsa bar.

Given the suggestion for handmade torts and brisket tacos (i usually order brisker tacos at Superior), Will give'm another shot.

Joel (one of the brothers) is the sole owner/operator now. He's really focused on stepping their game up. I need to go back and see him soon.

I went for lunch yesterday. Got 1 fish, 1 pork and 1 steak taco with rice and beans. All the tacos were very underwhelming. The rice was your basic mexican rice, good but not great. And then there was the beans, . I would probably go back just for the beans.

We tried it a few weeks ago. I actually prefer 3-4 small tacos (like at Mr. Taco) rather than 2 big tacos (like at Taco Chops). I just think the flavor holds together better that way.

I had the steak and the chorizo. I preferred the steak. It had some bold ingredients, like potatoes in the chorizo. Overall the tacos were good, but I felt they tried to do too much with the ingredients.

Sometimes simple is better - all I need is some cheese, onions, and cilantro with the meat and I'm good.

Just had lunch there. I got the pulled pork and the brisket tacos. The pulled pork taco is topped with a lime cole slaw that I really enjoyed. The brisket taco had crispy onions on top. I really liked the brisket taco the best, but next time I'm going to have them top it with the slaw instead of the onions. I think it will pair nicely. Also liked the house-made tortillas.

Spoke with Joel, the owner, for a bit. Nice guy with a good back-story on his culinary influences (American, but grew up in Mexico, son of Missionary parents). I like his philosophy as far as where he's trying to take the menu; mix of authentic mex and local ingredients. He's going for flavor and not trying to pigeonhole himself into a cultural cuisine.

I'll definitely go back and try some of the other fare.

Went there when they first opened and swore I would never go back. It was one of the worst food experiences I have ever endured.
