Worth it? I’m not a guy who’ll smoke meats a lot but would occasionally like the option. Not gonna buy the huge one because I wouldn’t use it enough to just unify the price

I mean, it’s tiny. What do you plan on smoking on such a small grill?

You can get a Weber Smokey Mt 22 inch that will hold a brisket or a slab of ribs without having to divide them for the same money or less.

Any ceramic poker is worth it, I’m partial to BGE because I have 2, however the table top minis have a small cooking surface, even the medium is only 15” wide. The table top models are 10”-13” wide. Quite small

Friend has the pit barrel cooker and all of his food is delicious, for what it's worth.

You can spend the same amount on a bigger smoker and have more capabilities. You're limiting yourself by going small. Up to you though.

I want something that fits on my outdoor kitchen counter. Again, I’ll use this sparingly but would like to have the option. Just for me and the missus mostly.

See my thread on a Weber 22 and the Venom controller.

That egg looks like a toy.

It really depends on how far you want to go. Just looking at the Mini Egg, you can only do so much. Whenever I smoke, I'm throwing in a 12 lbs brisket, sausage, and other things. I'm also generally feeding a group. Maybe the Mini Egg would be good for a small family, and if that's what you want, go for it. It looks cool and is recognizable. If you can fit a pork butt in it, then that might be a solid purchase after all.

How are you going to cook a pork butt in a grill with a 10 inch diameter.

Like I said, that thing is a toy. A $430 toy.

I am going to say something, and I will get destroyed for it but here goes...

I don't think kamado-style ceramic cookers are the best choice for smoking foods. I think they are too efficient and insulated and do not allow for the fuel source to do its job the way smoking foods is intended to be done.

There, I said it.

If you want a Kamado and aren't using it much, then maybe an Acorn is for you. You can get a small one for $150 and a full-sized one foe $300+.

That was my thinking as well when I was looking for something for my RV. I went with an Akorn Jr. I'm glad I did because I don't use it for smoking anything due to how small it is. It does work well as a small grill though.

Like an oven? That is an interesting take that I haven't thought of before.

This is my feeling having used both antique ceramic and modern porcelain komados. They are incredibly fuel efficient and versatile, just not the best smokers. JMO
