Is this place "farm to table"?

From their website:
Table Kitchen and Bar will feature a daily fresh scratch made farm to table culinary approach with a focus on traditional offerings such as chicken, pork, fish and steak and featured selections of game and Charcuterie.

Farm to table really means nothing. All food comes from farms. shite McDonald's is farm to table and now also artisan according to its new ad campaign.

Its meat and potatoes. Nothing wrong with that.

that's not true. you are oversimplifying. It now means that a restaurant sources its ingredients from farms it knows rather than ordering from a food supplier middle man.

No it's not.

So every single ingredient they use comes from a farm directly to this restaurant?

Onions, carrots, celery? Thyme? Bacon? The Romaine Lettuce? The cheddar cheese? Butter?

No middle men at all? Must make stock making very expensive, not to mention reordering a real pain.

No one said that. It's a concept. It is not perfect but an idea.

It isnt personal against this restaurant, but farm to table is a vague idea. There are probably a few restaurants in the whole world who maybe source more than 50% of their raw product directly from farms.

Just call it a restaurant. Let people know you get some ingredients from some kick arse local farms by noting that on your menu. Steer away from an inaccurate label. A label which will also probably confuse half of potential customers, i.e. "Sounds like hippie/vegan food, I dont want none of that."

Thanks for the review. I live literally right across Perkins and I had no clue this place was open yet. Tell your buddy, if he doesn't know already, that he can have great food but he will never succeed without a sign that you can see from Perkins. Bushwood was great, but nobody knew it existed. Just too much competition in that area. You would forget it existed unless you saw a sign for it from Perkins.

Thanks for the review though, look forward to trying it out. What's the prices look like?

It's a hip new eatery, you can answer that for yourself. I'm sure the fries are also "handcut" and the greens are "organic".

It's Baton Rouge. Saw a dude in cargo shots and a fishing shirt and people in coats.

Just took a look at the menu. The $19 burger sounds legit.

I went last night finally. I thought it was awesome and will definitely be back. We sat outside which was surprisingly not that hot.

We got the wings per some of yalls suggestion and they were excellent. I don't even like wings that much but could eat about 20 of those things.

I got the gulf fish with veggies. The fish was snapper. It was pretty damn good. The fish was cooked perfect as well as the variety of greens. The portion could have been a little bigger. I also ordered a side of the mac & cheese. It was excellent.

The date got the pulled pork dinner that came with greens and mac & cheese. She seemed to enjoy it. However I think she liked my dish more.

Pim's drink is delicious. We each had about 4 of those and ended it with a gin and tonic which was on point like the pim's drink.

Solid work. Think I'm going to give it a go on Saturday night. How busy was it for a Wednesday night? Trying to put a thumb on whether or not there will be a wait on Saturday night.
