Not on Wednesdays, at Publix, for $5/roll, made with love from QQ and Eden. Sucks for you.

Colored fish paste taste good to me. I have only been to 1-2 places that do not use imitation crab meat.

making sushi yourself is actually quite difficult

It's really not. If you want authentic japanese nigiri or sashimi, it's impossible in most places. But if you are talking asian fusion maki rolls, it's not difficult.

Like your first few are crap, but after 3 or 4 you can whip a spicy tuna roll out in 30 seconds.

Eating sushi as a method of pretending to be cultured? How small a town you live in, baw?

Every time I try to make the rice, it never comes out right. The texture and flavor is always off.

When I lived on the other side of the Pacific, sushi was a particular favorite, but it ruined me for what passes as sushi here. Totally different experience.

I agree entirely. It's an extremely misinterpreted cuisine.

Sounds like you need to get back to eating your California rolls

You’ve never had good omakase. I feel sorry for you.

I don’t know that he’s had anything other than a California roll that was over 6 weeks expired.

Have you tried the Yakuza House in NOLA (Metry

I have. It's my favorite bites of food. Sitting at the bar and shooting the shite with the guys is a bonus. They are legit into fishing.

I do love sushi and good sushi isn't cheap. Eat it about once a month. I don't eat many rolls. I prefer nigiri. Salmon, tuna, yellowtail, eel, and uni are some of my favorite. Toro which comes from the belly of the tuna melts in your mouth. Can easily spend over $100 for 2 people especially with some good sake. My favorite place in BR to eat it is Umami.
