Ordering a few for some other folks and looking to send a new one. Might have to bump this on Monday when more folks are around. Thanks for the bump, though.

I had one last year. My Dad had it shipped to me. It was delicious and very unlike a grocery store king cake.

I'll have to hint around for another one.

you've done it now... opened up King cake threads

from now until mardi gras we will be hearing endless threads of best king cakes... shipping, etc.

Only thing that bothers me worse on here is crawfish season and orange beach restaurant threads.

I prefer king cakes and crawfish to threads on Cane's and ranking your favorite fast food joints, so let the king cake threads multiply.

I usually order from Haydel's and those have gone over very well, though I prefer the kringle cake from there to be honest. I don't like the basic traditional king cakes. Give me a pastry type or a brioche.

Thanks for the report. I've been thinking about the macaroons, for a while, now. If I order those, I'll have to add a king cake too.

My favorite king cake thus far. Warm that bitch in the oven before eating. Add in a cup of coffee and you got the perfect breakfast or dessert.

I've purchased 4 of them, in the last week. Everyone says they're the best they've had. When you warm them just a bit, they are excellent and I'm not a king cake lover.

We had a Mardi Gras themed dinner this evening, (we donated the dinner as an auction item at a fundraiser). We decided to do Sucre rather than making the dessert. Everyone got a slice of king cake, two Mardi Gras macaroons (I'm addicted to these) and Mardi Gras chocolate, all from Sucre. It went over very well. There wasn't a bite left on the dessert plates and we gave very generous servings.

I highly recommend it. Those cakes are tasty and they are neat looking. People loved the shiny icing with glitter in it. Quite unique.

Sucre owes you a commission. I had to go to a party about two blocks away, so I stopped by to pick one up (only had two left).

They're very good.

However, they're also pretty freaking small for $18 (including tax).

The box tells you it serves 8-10 people - only if those people are 90-pound actresses in Los Angeles.
