The sauerkraut was better than I expected. I was worried it would overpower the sandwich but it didn't. I thought the thousand island dressing might be the weak point of the sandwich, but somehow it worked. I went traditional and got swiss cheese. And yes they have rye bread. It was mild, but tasty. The only veg I added was spinach. Frankly, I would go the spinach route again. It added some bulk without altering the flavor of the reuben.
It was $5 today for a footlong. I don't know how long that special will last.

I liked it.
I love Reubens, but hate how much butter most places use to grill the bread. It makes the sandwich greasy as hell.
Subway doesn't butter their bread so it wasn't greasy at all.
I agree about the dressing too. It was surprisingly good.

I can read perfectly fine, thank you. Yes, rye bread is available I see.

New York Bagel in BR has a great one.
I haven't had a good one in New Orleans. And I have tried a few
I like to sub pastrami when i can. A little extra flavor.

Any beer suggestions to go with the reuben? It needs to be able to bite back to compete with the reuben.

I had one coming through DFW and it was pretty bad. May have been an airport thing though

I had Subway's version yesterday, thought it was just OK, nothing special. Haven't tried George's but may need to do so in the near future. Whoever invented this sandwich is a culinary mastermind.
