As I said the boiling process was disgusting but the finished product didn’t smell terrible. I may have tried it but I’m currently fighting a diverticulitis flare up and haven’t eaten anything since Sunday

Yea, I knew I didn't stand a chance again y'all in a steak challenge, so since it was an LSU gameday I decided to try and recreate my favorite taco in Baton Rouge.
Chicken Fried Steak Tacos

I started by boiling red potatoes and roasting a bunch of garlic for my mashed potatoes.

Next up I started the tortillas. I'm going to be honest, it was definitely the weakest part of the dish, and would have been better/easier with just store bought ones. But the sous chef I borrowed wouldn't have had as much fun. And he was on his last day of quarantine, so deserved to get a little messy.

Now on to the star of the dish.

Now that that's done, time to move onto the gravy. I started by chopping up some maple sausage strips and then adding them into the skillet we fried in, which made the gravy so good adding that little bit of sweetness.

Assembly time!

It isn't fancy like everyone else's, but 10/10 would make again. It was delicious and definitely hit the nostalgia spot.

The chicken fried steak was excellent. I ate leftovers for days.

Rock Paper Taco. I think they closed their food truck and are opening an actual location on Chimes, but I haven't heard anything in awhile since we moved to TN.

That’s the fanciest chicken fried steak I’ve ever seen.

be honest though, did you think anyone would ever do that in one of the food challenges? Lol
Well, there’s one person who could worse, but that person shall remain unnamed.
