Me and my friends are arguing over what goes on a steak. One friend eats his with ketchup or steaksauce and claims that the majority of people do this, what say the food board?

depending on the steak and how it was prepared, I'll go with steak sauce, sweet baby ray's, or nothing.

Ketchup on a steak is an insult.

If steak sauce is available/offered anyway AND the steak is overcooked for my taste, then I'll use it.

I never use a condiment with steak at a good steakhouse or at home

I've never had steak sauce or ketchup on a steak, but I sometimes like a little brown butter with fried parsley or a some blue cheese butter and the occasional bearnaise, though it's been a long time since I've had the bearnaise.

I don't subscribe to the "you should put nothing on steak" belief. I eat it that way much of the time, but certain sauces or butters compliment the flavor of the meat and I like it.

Troll. Your steak needs to be wrapped in shite, bacon, and cream cheese. And if you are a good boy, top it with a pepper.

I like the Tabasco ketchup or white gravy on my NY Strip.

Wife likes ranch.

This or horseradish sauce.

I prefer to taste the meat (and blood) seasoned with just a touch of salt & pepper. My steak HAS to be cooked no more than med-rare and if it is over cooked it goes straight to my Rhodesian Ridgeback.

I want to bitch slap someone anytime I see them ruining a good medium or medium rare steak with steak sauce, ketchup, or anything at all. My roommate uses A1 and smothers his steaks in it. Like why the frick did you just pay $12 for a decent cut of meat just to slather it in another flavor?
