You sure it was Nino's? The yogurt store next door is gone.

The parking comment cracks me up. 90% of successful restaurants in Nola have off street parking but do great.
Do you BR folks even use Lyft or Uber when you go out for a nice dinner?

Anyone know why Nino's closed? I thought that they did good business? I passed by this week and saw that it was gone.
Their Facebook page is still active. They posted a picture of something yummy-looking and someone commented that they had an awesome meal there yesterday.

Wayne will be paying for this mistake for a long time. On a related topic, any news on Le Creolé's new location? How Shucks doing?
Posted on 8/21/17 at 4:44 pm to Langland
Shucks is gone. Makes me wonder how Rue Beignet stays open if that location is so bad.

I wonder this as well.
Their beignets really aren't even that good. The few times I've gone there it was simply because I didn't want to drive to Coffee Call and the wife wanted beignets

Exactly. Just seems like an enigma to me. They've been there for over 5 years too.

I did an image search and noticed the guy behind the counter is asian. Like most chinese restaurants, it's likely being kept open by the higher powers so people will have a place to work after they get shipped over here. Of course I'm just speculating about the chinese ownership, because I don't really know, but if it is owned by chinese, then there's your answer.
And I know Shucks is gone, just like LeCreehole. LeCreole was a Wayne Stablier's joint and he is also responsible for Shucks being put in that location.

arent you the one who was so sure the location of BRQ was fatally toxic? go by there at peak times and try to get a table
Posted on 8/21/17 at 5:16 pm to Langland
Amphore was there after Le Creole. I think that lasted 3 months.
Posted on 8/21/17 at 5:27 pm to Paul Allen
Why don't they put a Walk On's in the old Le Creole location? Problem solved.

BRQ
I'm not so easily fooled by initial crowd sizes.
Y'all have the problem of being out of sight, out of mind. As you get closure to BRQ on Jefferson, traffic counts go down. The Annual Average Daily Traffic Count is 34,500 just north of I-12. A little further down, it's 28,300. Right in front of BRQ on Jefferson, it's 15,750. Comparatively speaking, it's a fairly dead area. And yes, I know y'all are surround by all sorts of traffic, but very little of that traffic bothers to pass in front BRQ.
By the way, I'm not saying y'all will fail. I'm just saying that y'all could have picked a better location, where future success would have been a given.

and yet, has been packed every day
so location appears to be a positive not a death sentence
you're talking out your arse

like farther up Jefferson where stabler is doomed to failure?
you're a hoot

What's up with the hate? Show me where I dumped on BRQ. You can't be this ticked off at me. What's really bothering you?
Posted on 8/22/17 at 9:18 am to Paul Allen
Amphora? Was there before Le Creole. Do you have any idea what you're talking about?
Posted on 8/22/17 at 9:28 am to Langland
Why the hate for Wayne Stabiler restaurants?
Posted on 8/22/17 at 9:56 am to Langland
there's no "hate" dude
just the recognition of a know it all who lacks both the know and the all
