I think they already purchased the house behind the restaurant to expand parking.

Was there some kind of issue with the property at that location after they purchased? Someone in another thread mentioned an issue with acquisitive prescription of part of the property but then never explained further. Any clues?

Yeh because the neighbors on Rienzi Blvd can't wait to have a restaurant parking lot for a neighbor...the residents aren't going to let that happen. Also, parking at Bocage Tennis Club isn't a great option either...it's not right next door. I'll withhold further judgment until I see the finished product.

Isn't it across Jefferson? That would be a terrible option.

No it's on the same side but The Backpacker is between them.

Ah, that doesn't seem so bad then. Of course I'm not the type to spend $50 for a steak.

Yeah that's what I was referencing, I wasn't sure if they'd started working on it yet or if it'd be done when they open..

But you said it'll never open, right? Is our bet still on?

No bet!! Don't take me literally Shingo. I live close by and it's just been a long time coming. Wayne has owned the building for at least 2 or 3 years so I'm just ready to see the finished product.

Heard a lot of mixed things from the property, staff, construction and they're menu is going to be pretty pricey.

It will all come down to service and quality, but then again Baton Rouge will give it a fair try. If Little Village can make it I am sure Stab's will too.

FYI Palermo's was beyond mehhh, only good italian food in BR is Nino's.

People are going to have to park at Walgreens or across the street at Beausolei

Palermo is excellent. The food and service were both superb when I went. My only complaint was it was a little noisy inside.

Exactly. Once you factor in a drink and tax you're pushing $20.

So the parking for this place is basically going to be a lot that the owner bought in Bocage?
