That is their famous restaurant. I went there when LSU was playing in the final four in Indy. We had drinks in the jam packed bar but couldn’t get a table. We ended up going down the street to Morton’s. That must have been the overflow place because it was filled with celebrities. But yes, St Elmo’s is the place to go.

Pass on the shrimp cocktail. It’s garbage.

Do not pass on the shrimp cocktail.

It may be one of the few opportunities to sample a very potent cocktail sauce made that morning from fresh horseradish.

Steaks are very good and everyone I know including myself love the shrimp cocktail.

You can order the shrimp cocktail sauce on Amazon if you want a preview. Love eating at that place.

The shrimp are just a vehicle to get that awesome cocktail sauce with fresh horseradish into your gullet. They could skip the shrimp and just bring me some Club crackers and I would still eat all of the sauce.

Went there two weeks ago. Food was ok. Shrimp Cocktail was tasty but they put the sauce on top of the shrimp. Be careful when just diving in. A lot of horseradish.

Steak was about average for me. Ordered the Med-Rare rib Eye. Outside was over cooked. Middle was good but it ate very dry.

Took my 11 year old daughter (now 30 next month) to St. Elmo's in 2005 for the Women's Final Four in Indy when Baylor beat LSU. We ate 1 night at St. Elmo's and we both still talk about that meal today. Who orders shrimp cocktail in in inland city in the US? We did, because everyone said we had to get it. They grow their own horseradish. My 11 year old daughter ate it up. While she was eating half of it (we shared it), some old lady stopped by our table and said, "honey, I can't believe that you can eat that horseradish. It is so hot!" My daughter replied, "Although I live in Texas, my Dad grew up in Louisiana and we love spicy food." Can't wait to go back. It is listed as a Top 10 Steakhouse in most airline magazines. I agree with those rankings. You have to try it. A classic American Steakhouse.
