The Bolita and the Ghost Stories are great. Add them to a Hunahpu and you'll be hollering at the neighborhood fat bitches before you know it.

DR13 is agreat beer. Its as good as about any quad around. I had it on cask and served at the proper 50 degree temp yesterday and it was as good as a Westy.

At 50, I thought it was below average. Nearing room temperature, it climbed to above average. No where near the best quad I've ever had. Westy? Stop it

Dude, come on. It's a good beer but very overhyped. It is nowhere close to St. Bernadus Abt 12 or Rochefort 10. And you are out your damn mind if you think it is as good as Westy.

This hyperbole is ridiculous.

It easily surpasses those 2. The St Bernardus 12 is one of the most disappointing beers I've had . The St Bernardus Christmas Ale though is fantastic. But like I stated earlier, it was a cask pour which changed the flavor profile somewhat.

I look forward to it. Don't think the wife is on board though.

To each his own I suppose, I thought it was far below those two and was rather disappointing. I drank the last of the bombers I bought a few hours ago. It's a decent quad but I wasn't impressed.

First time I've heard the neg feedback. I've been hearing only good things from people whose opinions I trust.

None of them compared it to westy though. I do trust Zappas opinions on beer related things for the most part thoug.

I posted in the original thread about it and had one of the few 'negative' opinions. I'm not saying its poor by any means I just think for the price and the hype it's received it was disappointing.

Well, I will say its been 3 years since I had a Westy. And I am not comparing the normal bottled and carbed DR13 to the Westy.....although I think the bottled version is fantastic. But last night, sipping on that cask pour, I was having the same feelings of awe for that beer I had for the Westy 12. And others who were drinking it felt it was an amazing beer.
