Which one and why? Also, would you let your teen son or daughter work at either of them?

I worked at Southside Produce for a bit in college. It was a decent job and the family that owns it (assuming they still do) is really nice.

My sister worked at Fresh Pickins in high school, she made a lot of friends there and seemed to like it.

i go to both of them regularly. Ive never actually compared prices but it seems like i always get more at Fresh Pickin's for less.

Depends on which side of town I'm on. I consider them the same and interchangeable.

Southside is better than FP IMO. FP's staff is really trashy and the quality of the produce isn't as good.

Used to go to Southside Produce weekly when I lived in the area. The staff always seemed really nice.

I haven't been to Fresh Pickins in a while, but it always felt cramped and was a pain in the arse to get in and out of the parking lot.

We shop at Southside a lot. Love the place, huge parking lot, lots of space inside. They also have some hidden gems like Pepperland Salsa, cheapest Cento products around, and the sweet potato tots in the freezer.

My biggest gripe is the fresh herb selection. You're much better off going to the Asian market next to Rotolos/Bao if you want herbs.

Maggie's Mushrooms from St. Francisville. They've got varietals i've never seen before.

Go check them out at the Saturday Farmer's Market. That's where they have the best selection.

As far as shopping? I go with whichever is more convenient at the time. For my kid to work? I have to go with Southside.
