The best Meat and 3 in the city let alone that area is Stockyard Cafe. If you want wings ya gotta hit The Blue Store near Southern.

Bayou Cafe on Airline is the correct answer ... and that's from an S.U. Alum who spent many years in North BR and the area around the campus. Hell, I been eating Blue Store chicken since 1999 when the wings were 3 for a dollar and nobody outside of Southern knew about them.

The other great option is to hit the Mayberry Cafeteria on Southern's campus on Mondays ... red beans and fried chicken day ... one price all you can eat. It's usually red beans, rice, cabbage, corn on the cob, fried chicken, baked chicken, smoked sausage, and all kinds of other stuff. Unlimited fountain drinks included. Ice cream machine for when you're done. There's not a buffet in all of Metro Baton Rouge that can stand up to Mayberry Cafeteria.
