Not that there's anything wrong with it.

I just see a risk of turning people off from wanting to return.

But, again, maybe they know what they're doing and there's a reason they're running the place and not me.

Maybe, but I don't think people walk out of there and go "Wait a minute, I've been had!" I think you risk greater chance of turning people off by just letting the floodgates open and having an unbearable crowd.

paying a $10 cover (without knowing the $10 credit thing) gets people to stay inside said establishment for more than 1 drink as they want to get their money's worth, aka the $10.

which is stupid to me

i wouldn't go in if it were an ordinary $10 cover charge.

I would surely go in if it were noted that my $10 cover charge is going to go towards my tab.

Doesn't make sense.

they were going to be at full capacity regardless yesterday. the $10 cover is fricking brilliant in my eyes and even so more that it adds to a credit. Had I been down there I would have been one of the thousands who just wanted to walk in and get a look around, the cover detered that and kept those types just buying drinks at the walk up stands outside.

i never said it wasnt a good idea. But it holds the same purpose whether you announce you get a $10 credit or not. So you might as well put a note saying what your $10 goes to.

in fact you prob lose money when people walk up and see $10 cover and turn around. more people would go in if they knew it was a credit.

So I'm hearing from a friend that for the $10 cover at walk-ons, they gave you a $10 voucher so as long as you spent $10 inside (per person)

see i like this idea. the general public needs to know. however, with that being said, i get enough of walkons in baton rouge for LSU i'm going somewhere unique in NOLA for a saints game
