It takes 12 minutes to fry a batch a chicken. It's not always going to be ready depending on previous orders.

aka fast food.

I find their spicy to not even be as spicy as it once was. It's not painful at all.

some fast food restaurants can be quick service restaurants, but not all quick service restaurants are fast food.

whatever dude. popeyes is fast food to 99.9% of the population.
regardless, the service is usually terrible and the place is expensive.

no doubt it can be, but sometimes there is a difference between terrible service & them wanting to give you the best food possible. Which can mean waiting for chicken to finish

Lester, ive seen you say this before but how is Popeyes not fast food? What is it?
Fried chicken at any establishment (Sonic, McDonalds, Canes, etc.) takes 12 minutes to fry. Yes, Popeyes should always have chicken in the fryer since that is all they sell, but like LE said, the issue is not needing to order more chicken.
People like to forget this in both fast food places and full service places (can't even count how many times someone ordered a grilled chicken sandwich on their 30-minute lunch break when we were on a wait and got pissed their once-raw chicken took longer than 5 minutes to grill).
If they're saying they're completely out of chicken, well.. I'm not surprised. Y'all should try the Denham Springs Popeyes. Whole different world.

Unless those places have bone in chicken all of a sudden, no
Popeyes tenders take 3 minutes. They'll tell you that when you gotta wait

Here's what I don't get about Popeyes consumers. Yes, the service in LA Popeyes leaves a lot to be desired. But if you never want to wait, would people rather fry up 500 pieces of chicken in the AM and leave it under a light all day like a gas station would so it's readily available? Then when you do that, people will complain about quality
Anyway, back to the OP, that's a bullshite move on that stores part. Call the 800 number or go online and file a complaint above the restraint manager

I worked at Sonic in high school and our "poppers" were 12 minutes

Canes fries chicken all day long. Yes, they end up throwing a lot out, but they follow a pattern based on how busy they get. Popeyes charges like $9-$10 for many of their meals, so it isn't like they have a more difficult time throwing chicken out than Canes does.

Agree but there should never be a time when I order chicken where they say we dont have any right now, unless the place is legit out of the product. It should be a we have some in the fryer and it will be X amount of minutes until its done.
In the past 4 years, Ive probably dined in more fast food places than I care to admit and Popeyes is always the worst. Jack in the Box a close second. I can understand if someone orders a 20 piece and clears out the tray while the next few people wanted that type of chicken. Ok well yes we dont have any ready we have to fry some and it will be X minutes.
McDonalds and Taco Bell consistently have the best service imo.

Can't wait to partake in the annual spicy Popeyes, Imodium, and copious amounts of booze combo for both Endymion Saturday and Bacchus Sunday in a few short weeks ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconbow.gif)

If someone(s) before you comes in and buys a large box of chicken, and they have some frying, but none available to give you at that moment, how is that bad service? the chicken just isn't ready.

I agree with you. That's on management ultimately. A good GM is the difference between a good Popeyes and bad Popeyes. Unfortunately LA has a poop group of GMs as a whole

I posted above how they should give you a time when it will be ready. Not just a we dont have any so order something else. If they have some frying, they should tell the customer that and say how long it will take

I thought this was going to be about the sides. I have gotten mashed potatoes without gravy and twice received a large side that wasn't even half full.

I live in gulf shores and any time I venture north to foley, I stop at the Popeyes.
I'm usually not even hungry, but I stop and go in specifically for the service. Best Popeyes service in America hands down. It's a refreshing experience.
