Smoked Sausage in NOLA

Morning all!
I grew up in Opelousas, so I am very partial and loyal to the sausage I use in my gumbo. I buy Kelly's in bulk when I go back home.
I have to make a gumbo next weekend, and I do not have time to go back home, and I also do not have enough in stock for a large gumbo.
So what is the best sausage in the NOLA area that is similar to something found in Cajun country?
Thanks in advance!

You could pick up some Andouille in LaPlace
If you want to stay in metro area there is Chris's specialty meats who does a good job with sausage. They started selling Best Stop in groceries so that could be an option. I also tend to buy the Chisesi/Hogs For the Cause, Creole Cottage, and D&D sausage from the local groceries.
They're all good but definitely not as good as Lafayette/Acadiana produced products.

Nobody putting Manda in their gumbo sir. Sorry.
eta: Can't help you in Nola but if you're willing to drive to Lutcher, go to the Veron Super Market and get theirs. To do so you'll probably have to pass Wayne Jacobs, Bailey's and Jacob's in Laplace. All good places for smoked sausage and andouille.

It’s Wayne Jacobs, son.

Some Metry grocers sell Best Stop and Veron. I have used both and like them.

You can order sausage from just about all the places back home lol.
But like mentioned above, Best Stop has been popping up in stores here. My Rouses has not had it in a few weeks, however.
This is probably my favorite which you can find in stores too.

The Hogs for the Cause sausage mentioned above is the best I have seen in the local grocery, other than the emergence of Best Stop.
Jacob's in LaPlace if you have an hour round trip to spare

McCord Butchery, end of Vets near Lake Ave, carries Poche's..which I don't think I've seen in the metro area before.

OK. So, is this stuff supposed to be better than Conecuh? If so, what do you recommend? Smoked sausage obviously, but Cajun Grilling Sausage?

Lester is correct. For a mass marketed product NO Smoked Ssusage is the best IMHO.

everything I have had from them is good
as far as grocery store had sausage, I'd rate Veron and Best stop higher than the nola smoked sausage

I saw Best Stop andouille at Rouse's in the CBD today.
I haven't seen the Hogs for the Cause sausage in awhile.

Conecuh is a staple here. I love it. Every time there's a sausage thread on the F&D Board, I ask for recommendations. Last one was not better than Conecuh. Do you recommend this place as better and if so, which couple would you recommend that I try? Specifically for grilling as I don't do gumbo much.

That, and $10 a lb. to also spare.
Last time I checked out Bailey's in LaPlace, it was $9.99 a lb. and I assume Jacob's is around the same price.
