I was on the swim team, Wednesday’s were our only weekdays we didn’t have two a day practices. Me and a few teammates would go after wed classes, eat our hearts out and go nap the rest of the day. Good memories, no way you could walk out there hungry

It was right at the North Gates for years.
Such a great cheap lunch spot.

I remember the North Gates location much better actually. We used to walk over there between classes and eat

Ya'll talk about lunch at the Moon. Don't know if you ever did breakfast there. Three eggs, grits, a load of bacon, and a scratch-made biscuit floating in a bowl of that brown gravy with onions and bell peppers floating in it. You can eat all that with old blues wailing on her (real) jukebox, and moisture collecting on the windows outside. This was for $6 !

Me too. (paperback)

There's less than 60 recipes in it, but they look good.

Used to love that place eating a big lunch with a bad hangover.

Momma said that Marion Edwards would always come by the back door to pick up a mess of her white beans!

Ya'll may not know this, but Momma was always feeding LSU kids who had no money and could not afford to eat. Anybody who needed food, she took them in.

I saw a tearful reunion one day between and now well-heeled lady and Momma on a slow afternoon. She handed Momma a wad of bills and recalled when she could not afford a meal anywhere, and Momma thew open her kitchen to her.

Not just a great cook, she's a great soul. She's always at the early mass at St Gerard's across from Tony's Seafood.
