Went to the one in Charlotte recently, after eating there in Austin in the late 90s. The "Mexican Martini" is now the "Texas Martini". Out of state marketing ploy or fear that the former is somehow racists?

I'm not but only time I've had it was in alabama. Not really a tex mex hotspot. It's subpar overpriced garbage.

Pricey? Overpriced? Seriously? The most expensive thing is like $10.

for what it is, I think it's overpriced. plenty of regular Texmex joints offer comparable prices while maintaining higher quality/better food imo.

Would have preferred a Hugo's instead. Would be nice to have a regional, interior Mex-Mex place since we already have a ton of Tex-Mex restaurants.

The Chuy's on 290 in Cypress closed and became a Mamacita's. There are too many good mexican restaurants here for one that charges more for less to survive.

To be fair that is a horrible location. Nothing has survived in that building more than a handful of years. Its hidden behind chili's, Applebee, chipotle, I hop, subway, road house, gander mountain.

El Compadre was the the best Mexican food I ever found in Shreveport but I'd give a slight nod to Chuys. Its a slightly less expensive Nicky's.

Chuys jalapeno chip dip gives it the edge.

Those folks are turning out some great food. Looks like they will be at Great Raft some this weekend and the S'port Farmers Market Saturday morning.

They usually announce on Facebook where they will be. Well worth tracking down.

Had the farmers market in my hood a few weeks ago and ate four of those tacos from Ki. Freaking awesome! The pork with the habanero slaw/onions ftw.

Chuy's is slightly above average...combine that with the fact there is consistently a long wait and I rarely go there.

Hijack:

Their beers are uber carbonated the last few times I've bought them around here. Commotion and SD. Didn't used to be like that. I can't deal wit all that foam.

Lol at the poor arse whole says chuys is overpriced.

Most expensive thing is like $10.99 and they have free Nacho bar and $2 beers during happy hour. Man that's like a weeks pay
