You are also supposed to get set up or licensed in the state you are shipping too in some instances...maybe all. Some only allow wine to be shipped in. Some it's a felony to ship anything in. Some you have to notify who's getting what so they can collect taxes. And FedEx told me they are only supposed to ship wine. Same for ups. But I'm not sure they knew for sure but I was talking to the person who sets up that part of the FedEx account. Never use usps it's a felony.

Not sure if it is different for person to person but I have a class B liquor license as of late so I'm doing some learning.

I have a Louisiana themed gift basket company that can include beer wine or liquor in baskets or sells it separately. So it's a company front. Not sure if they treat it different when I comes from a licensed entity.

I was told there was a difference between shipping for commercial vs private. I never set up my account to ship alcohol, but they said it was pretty easy and mainly to keep track for legal purposes.

It is easy but I have to send them a copy of my license. I haven't yet. Not sure I want to jump through all the hoops on the recieveing end. Some states you have to get a shippers license and all kinds of reporting. It boils down to tax $. From what I gather if you stay away the serious banned states and usps you should be good. Ups and FedEx may close your account at worse. But the state you ship too may have more to say about it if they catch you. Not sure how they would unless you got reported some how.

NolaGT those look like regulations for commercial shipments not private citizens shipping beer without currency exchange.
