I'd put Dezi Burger in there somewhere, solid, solid, solid.

Shake Shack is the blueprint for which CoBu and Atomic were founded. The owners will tell you as much
I would eat CoBu over SS. Atomic falls short in a few areas for me, namely the burger and fries. Just average to me.
Desi isn’t in this segment
Danny Meyer has set the bar for customer service. People flock to CFA for average food bc they’re treated well and it’s quick. SS operates under a similar model expect the food is good and they also serve wine, beer, and frozen custard. There average annual sales are north of $4 mil, they are doubling up an atomic burger and some

Shake Shack is okay for what it is, but the fact that it was started by a "towering figure in US dining" is not something I see as suddenly making it a place I should be blown away by

I was told that the Lagers building will be torn down and the Shake Shack has a smaller foot print than the Lagers building, so there will be more parking. This person also told me that negotiations are happening on the Egg Roll parcel to incorporate that into the Shake Shack location.

I always hit them up for the mushroom swiss burger the night before I fly out of MSY. Heck of a last meal if by chance it happens to be one.

Yeah atomic burger is a complete ripoff of shake shack- they’re the only place around here you can get martins potato buns. Fries are worse than shake shack though which is an achievement I guess.

Shake shack does generic crinkle cut FROZEN Ore Ida fries
Yes, they use basic frozen fries and have admitted to such

Atomic Burger actually uses fresh hand cut fries that are sliced fresh on location

Yeah atomic burger is a complete ripoff of shake shack

It’s not like it’s a secret or anything. They tried to put out fresh fries and fans hated them so much they went back to frozen crinkle cuts. They followed what their customer base wanted.

Not sure why anyone would shite on Atomic Burger unless they just have not tried it.

But to say their fries are better than the hand cut fresh fries at Atomic Burger is tomatoes in gumbo ban worthy IMHO

Looks like my kind of burger.

A mushy, greasy mess despite being sliced on site. They don't fry them to order in the name of speed of service. They sit there on top of each other soaking in their own grease. But if you have a drive thru window people expect faster service at the expense of inferior food
Posted on 10/26/18 at 10:14 am to lsupride87
Yeah it’s pretty out there. Personal preference is fine, but hand cut and probably double fried are better 9/10 times.

Its awesome. Also, the fries are great and I don't eat fries as much anymore but will split them with the kiddo.
