Im thinking about making some of my own italian sausage. Anybody know where you might buy sausage casings in South Louisiana?

Like anywhere. Ask any butcher for them.

Some local grocery stores have them. Check with the meat dept. If you can't find any in pville, head to Lamendola's in Gonzales.

Rouses or any store that makes their own fresh sausage.

Oak grove smokehouse on 73, close to 42, they will sell you the casings as well as seasonings and pink salt and as much education and tips as you want

Why you say this? I usually order casings, and everything else needed for sausage making, online from Rebel Butcher supply in Jackson. But the other day I ran out and picked up Academy's LEM brand natural casing. Couldn't tell the difference in it and what I get from Rebel. It's all pig gut. Only had one strand that was perforated and wanted to bust

What about BetR? If you look over by the meat department where they have the case with prepared food for sale (e.g. the fried catfish, breakfast stuff, etc.) on the side of it facing the meats, they have have sausage seasoning there. Seems like they could have casings too, but I'm not sure, have only gotten the seasonings as I usually make bulk sausage not cased sausage.
