VOR has some friends that live down the street. They were rubbed the wrong way by Kirk years ago when the brewery first opened. It had nothing to do with the brewery's impact on the neighborhood. They refuse to accept the business as an improvement to the area and have the "get off my lawn" mentality. I've tried to get them to give NOLA another chance but they ain't hearing it.

Not just those guys. In fact, the only reason I brought it up was that another group of people in the neighborhood were bitching the other night. I really was just curious.

I saw that mentioned in another thread and kind of thought it was a joke that I was missing.
What's the story?

If some old lady called the police about noise I will burn her house down and poison her cats.

I thought it was a very cool space

Didn't hear anything about it being closed though.

I'm told they had a temporary permit. The opposition is growing. Other than Tchopitoulas, it's pretty much residential around there.

Sandwiches, burgers, nachos, wings. Bar food.

You seem unpleasant.

She has a point and you've not addressed it. I don't go to many bars where full BBQ plates are served it.

And you're drawing hasty and judgmental conclusions about a poster based upon a legitimate question. Soooo...

Not really. If NOLA wants to avoid trouble, they should be a good neighbor. They should clean up after themselves and their patrons, hold the noise down when appropriate, not ignore sewerage leaks that spills over into the neighborhood (true story) and obey the law. Just like every bar or similar establishment has to do.

What the hell is a temporary permit? You let a company invest serious $$$ only to wait and see if their business is right for the neighborhood?

bullshite. The area was a hood until recently and needs to be very thankful that a place like this wants to invest in their community.

I'm going to need some explanation on this because a temporary permit smells like some bullshite. What permit are you talking about? The planning commission grants provisos, but all of those requirements are approved on plans prior to allowing construction, and the the CO isn't issued until the proviso requirements are inspected and signed off on. Most of the time it is things like landscape buffers, parking, height restrictions, and those sorts of things.
