I swear the Sammy's burger was a frozen patty.

I would expect it to be.

Sammys is not a burger joint and Ive never heard of anyone going there for a burger. You go there for average fried seafood and 1 hour wait lines for dinner

I've been pissed off at Sammy's since late 90s for not having a good selection of beer on tap.

Crawfish are always pretty good.

took the wife and sister in law there last week. it was my first time there outside of crawfish season and it was mediocre at best. I highly doubt I'll be back as long as I'm paying for it.

I've ordered crawfish from there twice. Both times I had to send back to the massive amount of limp crawfish (dead before being boiled)

Had crawfish there probably 100 times.
Never sent them back.

No, he ran Sammy's though.

He now owns The Francis and that place stays slammed.

Has it ever been "good" we went recently and sat at the bar. We had to leave after 30 minutes because of the service...

Are we surprised? Majority of their sauces and food is manufactured at a plant and brought to each location.

No doubt. The Francis is 100x better than Sammy's. Sammy's is garbage now and I used to eat there at least twice a week for years.

When was sammys ever uphill? It's a place to grab beers, cheese logs/bar food, nothing else. Go in to get a buzz and eat some mediocre food, better than a chain

well when i would have friends come from out of town or business dinners... people would love Sammys.

I wouldnt suggest this place going forward.

I thought it was very good when it 1st opened, but the last couple times it's been pretty bad. In fact last trip was so bad I went ahead and swore it off. Snos is much better.

I'm not really a food snob, but I just don't understand the hype of this place. The food is average at best.

I've never understood the "it's just bar food" mentality. Plenty of places do bar food well, Chimes, Overpass Merchant, JSP in Lafayette, even Walk-Ons. Not to mention, all of those options have infinitely better beer and drink options than Sammys.
