Went to Prairieville a few weeks ago and they were out of half the stuff. They had a paper “temp” menu.

Times have changed too. The brick and mortar and that type of restaurant is going to go by the wayside in the next few years. Most restaurants in Austin, Nashville and other cities are smaller and way different concept than something that was so successful in the 80’s and 90’s.

That's frickin retarded. The Francis in St Francisville and Porch Light in pville both have Sammy's roots and are doing great.

Their cheese logs were the best I've ever had. We went a year or two ago and they weren't the same.

So they sold to an investment group six months ago and now closing?

They have to be reorganizing or something, huh?

Sammy is a partner of another failing restaurant, Creole Cabana. I know their staff refused to work until they received the money they were owed

Sammy has been skimping out on vendor payments for years. I remember a number of threads being started in tOT

Their food was good when the one on Highland was 2 rooms. One in front and patio outback.

Porch Light makes them exactly like you remember em. But now places like Roux 61 and Walk-Ons make outstanding cheese logs too.

The Francis is solid. I went there for a work event a year ago and was surprised at how much better it was than similar BR spots.

Been saying for years that Sammy’s is the most overrated eatery in BR.

The demise of Sammy's started right around the time that Smoke Laval was fired.

They could no longer depend on a steady order of cheese fries from their favorite customer, so this is a surprise to nobody.

Just went to the one on Highland this evening. Place was pretty busy (most of the tables were full) although there wasn't a wait for a table like there has been in the past.

Same at Highland tonight. Paper menu with less selections than usual. Food was still pretty good with decent-sized portions.

Yea, the restaurant business model that is failing is the chain restaurants like Applebee’s and Chili’s.

I would disagree. We are finding new revenue with delivery orders all while increasing butts in seats. Up and coming urban areas do prefer quick service though. We will probably be testing out a new concept in the near future.

Not just money, I've seen him bussing tables during crawfish season.
