Anyone have an easy sacalait recipe to share. Cooking some for the game along with broiled shrimp. Normally fry them but want to bake or broil in the oven for a change. Guess I could just add a little seasoning along with a little butter and lemon. Thanks.

Keep it simple. Sacalait doesn't need much.

If I’m lucky enough to get a mess of sacalait I will be frying them. Experimentation is for catfish or bass.. lol

Crappie piccata

This comes out really solid with crappie/sacalait. I tried a thai coconut curry, but the coconut milk had an off flavor that I didn’t care for. I found a different brand coconut milk that I think will be better, but have not tried it again. It was pretty good even though the coconut milk was sub par.

Little late for the game but I like to blacken sacalait slabs on my flattop and make fish tacos with them.
