I was just thinking about all of the policies we have at work in place for complaints, and that was one of the things that popped in my mind. You don't get a free meal that you ate more than half of.

Some people just run all over you in a restaurant. I can't even tell you how many people come in to my work and order something on the menu and COMPLETELY change it.

Seriously? There are multiple lifelong golfers in my family and none of them have heard of such a thing. THIS really makes me suspicious. Who would do this?

My people wouldn't play again with someone who did that. You don't do that stuff. My guess is he had a bad round that had nothing to do with the course. Well, that and maybe he can't afford the game.

I sure wish all those posts remained. It was pure gold. Maybe we can write chicken and get them refunded.
Hells no. We demand that Chicken give us something because it's not the experience we expected.

just got to the part where the captain showed up in the thread. pretty good

Thanks for mentioning - previously I didn't read that far. The Captain shows up at the bottom of Page 6.

Thank you to everyone that posted about Lance, I look forward to fishing with you again. I have been running charters for 15 years and this was the first person to ever post a negative report about me. I guess 1 unsatisfied customer out of a million is pretty good, but you couldn't make this guy happy if he caught moby dick. I can't control the conditions when I get offshore. You say you paid for a tuna fishing trip and thats what you got. I did my job that day and put 100% in to the trip like i do every day. I know exactly what trip you were on and I remember a lot of high five going on when we were catching bunch of amberjack another fish you forgot to tell everyone about. Never once did you ask for a discount and as far as not paying a guide for taking you if you don't catch fish. Anyone dumb enough to try that good look I watched a group from another guides charter try it and they got arrested before they could get to fourchon by the harbor patrol and were going to get charged with a felony but the captain dropped the charges once he was paid. To say I have no expenses you have no clue how a charter operation works. I have a boat note, insurance, maintenance, rod and reel repair, camp note, tackle, bait ,and ice. It cost me over $50,000 a year to keep my operation going. I take people on offshore trips because I have a passion for the outdoors and enjoy taking people out that share that same passion. Putting a smile on someones face or hearing "i had the best trip of my life". is the reason why I do this. So next time before you start bashing me and telling people not to go with me maybe you should get your facts straight first, you've made a fool of yourself. If you want your discount give me a call. Im headed down to Grand Isle right now on a TUNA FISHING TRIP I'll post some pics after the weekend if the weather lets us get out. Anyone wanting to go offshore this summer give me a call I only have one rule on the boat NO TREBLE HOOKS ALLOWED

I would have comped him a red velvet cake.

If you are drunk at the table next to me ( which at a loud restaurant like Ruth's Chris is not out of the ordinary) I would either not give a shite or ask the waiter to move me if for some reason it was extreme. I know many people that go there and drink and rarely eat much.

If you are drunk at the table next to me and decide to come sit at my table with me this will not be for 40% of the time. It will be for about the time it takes your arse to hit the chair and my arse to get up and remove it. Let's say maybe 1/2% of the time. I don't need a manager to help me nor would I ask a manager for anything more than a new napkin because mine hit the floor. I would not accept a free bottle of wine because I myself consumed it.

It's unfortunate our society has come to expect entitlements. Everyone wants instant gratification for free. It's all a scam to some people and the really scary part is it is only going to get worse. How about people just acting like adults or for gods sake and mine try to.

I read the OB thread and he would have been chum in my boat. It must really suck to always put a bunch of effort into how to get free shite rather than just enjoying the moments.

This board is getting a little white trashy I believe. No offense to those not white trashy. And you know who you are because you are a reasonable adult.

This comment was directed at me. Then when I told him no I haven't, he said it is people like that are the reason this country is in trouble (or something like that.

I honestly would have comped him a dessert. If he had actually been bothered to the point of another "intoxicated" guest was trying to sit down at his table and being a pest, I would've had no problem buying them a dessert for the inconvenience.

I've dealt with similar situations involving drunk patrons, but they never last more than 5 minutes, and anybody that allows that situation to go on longer than a few minutes must not have a "real" problem.

This is why I don't believe the OP. If this drunk was such a problem, he would've likely been disturbing more than 1 table and wouldn't have been allowed to continue acting an arse for an extended period of time.

The OP was fishing for freebies...seems to be his thing even if he's not catching what he wants.

It's people like him that make managements job tough in restaurants. You're not sure if it's BS or there is a legitimate complaint, and you hate to lose a customer and their friends over a real problem, but this is a customer I would hope never comes back.

ETA: He should have been appreciative of his free wine. Instead he tried to milk it for everything he could. People like him make me

Treble Hook, I don't even know where to begin with this. Have you done this at courses that you frequent? Like say, last week you played there and didn't ask for a refund but this week they were working on a green complex so you ask for a partial refund after the round?

I've truly never heard of anyone going to the pro shop after they finished a round of golf and asked for a partial refund because the course didn't meet their standards. JUST DON"T GO BACK!

I missed this in the thread. WOW. I have played courses and at the end of the round thought, "That was a crappy course and I'm not going to play it again." Never did I go back - after playing 18 holes - and demand a partial refund.

Alot of places would probably cave in and offer some sort of refund or free round, but that's because of "the customer is always right" mentality.

In treble hooks' case - the customer was wrong to play more than one or two holes and not go back. You can usually tell what a course will be like after a hole or two AND if there are maintenance projects or construction on the course they always (in my experience) let you know ahead of time before you pay.

If that guy did this, that tells me all I need to know about him.

going through the trouble of writing a letter after already having been comped a bottle of wine is a pretty clear attempt at trying to get a hand out.

something also tells me that when treble returns to get his freebie he'll tip based on the amount after the gift card discount
