Did you try a Runza? We go there when we're in Omaha

Good burger. I got the runza.
Some Imodium or Pepto should help.

I've had it while visiting Nebraska for work and, while drunk, in Omaha for the CWS.
They aren't hamburgers in the traditional sense. It's basically a hot pocket of ground beef, spices and cheese (I'm almost positive they have different options).
Not bad, but nothing crazy. It's a hot pocket .... like a kolache except stuffed with ground beef instead of sausage or boudin.

First thing noticed going in to Runza was looking back into the kitchen area and seeing bags flour stacked. Thought allright ... this might be something here.
Also the place was clean and looked well organized. Far cleaner than 99% of fast food joints you'll see.
Staff was professional which is rare nowadays.
Was caught off guard by Runza which was the reason for the post. Check it out if you ain't.

Yea I've never been to a Runza that was ghetto and you had to pull up and wait for your order every time

My go to for fast food chili.

"Runza" is more like a hot pocket. They're really nothing special. Bland mushy unseasoned meat/onions in the middle of a bread roll
I"m not sure about the restaurant chain, but I have had runzas made by someone from Nebraska. Think of a meat pie but instead of actually seasoning the meat it is completely bland and mixed with cabbage. Then instead of frying it, you just wrap it in plain bread and bake it. Just meat, cabbage and bread.

Dont' get impressed by much or surprised by much these days, but I'll be back.
Cinnamon rolls they got there better than any donut place I can think of.
Can see grabbing a dozen for a tailgate or other early event.
Props to the family that's kept this going for 70 years. Nice work,

That’s my grandmas franchise! I live in Louisiana but worked at the original Runza in Lincoln, my family’s original home. Dad played baseball for Nebraska. I make them for my Louisiana friends. Yummy!
I'm a Nebraska football fan so I've had them during my trips to Lincoln for games.

It’s a weird combo, but anyone that grew up in rural Nebraska had chili and cinnamon rolls on the lunch menu at school. I get a craving for the Swiss mushroom burger or Runza about once a month

Ya, I go to one of the Nebraska locations pretty regularly while traveling for work. This place is so underrated. I really like their mushroom and Swiss Runza with a couple tendies and a side of ranch

Also, temperature Tuesday is my favorite promo they do. They take the lowest temperature at every runza location and make that the price of the runza for the day. You have to buy a drink though. You can go both a runza and a drink for a couple bucks on those days.
