road food 101…the size of the parking lot is inversely proportional to the quality of the food. Use this information wisely

When I was in college, we stopped at a seafood restaurant on our way to our destination in FL. I ordered the app of "New Orleans BBQ Shrimp". A bowl arrived with flavorless looking peeled boiled shrimp covered in bbq sauce. I returned it.

Elite places don’t have to concern themselves with where you’re going to park

Number 1 is so so true. They dump cayenne pepper in it and call it cajun.

Best quote I have heard in a while was from the owner of Cou-yon's in DDD the other week.

Cajun doesn't mean hot; Cajun means seasoned.

True. The truckers are in the know about roadsides, food trucks and so on. If they are lined up, it's probably good food.

Just no.

Eat where the local cops/EMS/first responders eat. They are usually in the know.

My experiences....

Never eat Asian food in or around any small town in Appalachia
Never eat at a restaurant that purposely misspells their name, like
Kountry Kitchen.

Never eat at a restaurant that has Pepto-Bismol on the tables.

You should really do the opposite of this. Old people tend to gravitate to places that haven't updated the menu in 20 years and keep the food nice bland and consistent.

I’m serious when I say this, if this thought has ever crossed your mind you are definitely not a Cajun.
