My dad and I am driving to Nashville on Friday to catch the first Gold Cup US game. Taking our time on the drive up so we are looking for places to stop and grab a bite or a drink. Any recommendations?

I lived in Nashville for 4 years, married to a girl from Lafayette. I made this drive at least 20 times over the past decade.

This is really the only worthy answer. The original one.

CSB: When I originally moved my now-wife from BR up to Nashville, this was my non-negotiated stop. I actually parked her u-haul I was driving in some shopping center parking lot at the bottom of that hill you go up to the original Dreamland. I jumped in the car and we went up together. I was a little nervous about her u-haul loose in Tuscaloose and rushed lunch a bit.

I have stopped at Dreamland at least 10 times during this trip.

If you're taking your time, spend the extra ~45 minutes and travel the Natchez Trace for a peaceful and scenic ride.

Phew. That's a hard drive. Curvy and hilly with few amenities along the route. You get worn out halfway through. Been there. Done that.

About 10-15 miles of the Trace is closed for re-paving south of Tupelo
