Doesn't everyone on this forum have multiple Yeti coolers?

If in a pickup truck, put some ice in the bottom of an ice chest, lay the sack in, or dump them loose, top with a bit more ice and leave the plug open for any water to drain.
I keep them that way when I get them early and don't plan on boiling until several hours later in the day.
If the day is cool enough, I just hose them every once in a while and keep them covered and out of direct sunlight.

Crawfish need to be kept cool but not in water. A small layer of ice in the bottom of an ice chest will be fine. Drain excess melted water if needed.
I've always wondered if you need to add air to the ice chest after a couple of hours or not. Don't know the answer, but I would open the chest every 2-3 hours for a second to be sure.

I'd leave them in the sack. Easier to handle later for cleaning em and they will fight if given the room to do so. You'll end up with more dead ones.

Just put them on ice in a cooler with the lid cracked. Make sure water doesn’t pool up too much on the bottom.

It's tough to drive 6 hours with the cooler lid cracked in the back of a truck.

This is what we do. I used to bring 4 sacks of crawfish to buddies in Rockport, TX regularly. One bag of ice opened and spread on bottom of ice chest (Old school igloo 120qt) stack the sacks on top crack the lid a little with a wedge and strapped down so it doesn't completely blow open/off and leave the drain plug open so water doesn't pile up too much. Lots of luck with that route.

Thanks for all the good advice. Do y’all think I can leave the drain open in the ice chest for enough oxygen or do I need to leave the lid cracked?
Also, while we are on the subject, are y’all Heinz or Hunts guys as far as ketchup for the crawfish?

The plug isn't enough oxygen. Leave the lid cracked

Road sacks can be very dangerous, be careful.
