All-female party about 4 weeks from now. Vibe is a happy-hour/swanky cocktail party type deal. 7-8 people, but I'm fine with purchasing food for 8-10 (what most catering menus offer as their smallest size) since it will last late into the night.

Looking to do the meat/cheese board setup myself, but need an entree and some finger items.

Leaning towards Ruffino's pork cheeks and marscapone polenta for the entree, but mainly because I can't think of many restaurants to consider. Checked out Beausoleil, but it didn't sound quite as good (pork loin, chicken, etc.). I'm open to actual catering companies; they just seem to cater on onsite catering and large parties.

Sounds like you could hire a chef in home for the atmosphere you are looking for

Went to an event for Knock Knock museum that Ruffino's catered. Outstanding food and service. Thinking about using them for my next charity function.

It's a Bachelorette party with a whopping 7 people and I just need one entree and maybe one or two finger foods or apps. I don't think I need a private chef for that

Look for Jambo on here. He can hook you up. He's done some nude modeling in the past. He's perfect for a bachelorette party.

What kind of setting will this be in?

Are you trying to have them actually set up chafing dishes, prepare on site or just take out?

Yeah, I'm thinking Ruffino's as well. Prices are about the same level as City Pork and Whole Foods catering menu, but the options are more fitting with the type of party I'm going for.

Plus, if I decide on the pork cheeks and the polenta, I can stick it in an electric chafing dish with temp control and not worry about how it will hold up.

Take out. We don't have enough people to deal with catering staff or anything like that. I am only getting it catered because we spent way too much time in the kitchen at the bridal brunch we did last weekend, and I don't want that to happen again.

The bride just bought a beautiful home that's very sleek/modern, and she's not the go-out-all-night type, so we are doing it there. Kinda recreating a "girls slumber party" but adult-style with cocktails and upscale food. Her island will be transformed into sortof a lifesize charcuterie spread, so all I need at this point is catered entree, sides, and some finger foods for snacking.

Definitely not. The bride and myself promised each other years ago that we would never do this to the other one. She is getting married first, so I'm holding up my end of the promise

Paul.. I don't know if you're being Paul or not, but I love Mestizo. Not a horrible idea for the finger foods.

Is sushi/sashimi an option? It pairs well with caviar and adult beverages.

Completely agree with you. Bride has never been a sushi fan. I got her to eat crudo at Dinner Lab the other night, but I think going full fledge sushi for a party in her honor would be .. a bit much.

That said, it is a great idea for non-entree. And we both live by Essen. So I just might do that.
