A lot of good recommendations in this thread.
My favorites when I lived there were walkers and Lou’s full serv. I had a good experience at Shapley and loved that they let you pick the size of the steak and cut it in house

Is Iron Horse open? Good, casual place for drinks and nachos after work, but it's burned down two or three times.
The Elite closed fairly recently. Always enjoyed it for lunch, but I think the brothers who owned forever, finally retired.
I never understood the attraction of The Mayflower. Mediocre food, and there's never more than 3 or 4 people there for dinner. Of course it's also located in one the worst locations on the edge of downtown. Dangerous place.
