AUREPAS — Firefighters in Maurepas put out a fire at a restaurant along La. 22. According to the Livingston Parish Fire Protection District #9, crews responded to the fire at Diversion Asian around 9 p.m. on Wednesday. Crews were able to contain the damage to one of three businesses in the building. French Settlement Fire and St Amant Fire were on standby as crews from Livingston quickly put out the blaze.

Looks like it was the ice machine at our Asian place, just a little smoke inside, no fire damage. Outside burned pretty good. Should be back open next week.

For anyone interested, we reopened yesterday afternoon to the dismay of the news crews that drove to the swamp expecting to get video of a gutted out, smoldering restaurant.
