One person ordered a burger. Asked to have it cooked to medium. Sorry, no can do. All burgers must be cooked well.

I asked for their special. A grilled pork chop. I'd like for it to be cooked medium. Sorry, no can do. Pork must be cooked well done.

About that time, I didn't dare ask if I could order a steak cooked to my temperature specification.

Poor training with the wait staff or really such a thing over there?

You should’ve gone to The Francis right down the road

Should have ordered the chicken sandwich w/ the avocado.

Then medium wouldn’t have been an option.

I can maybe see the pork if they are scared the cook will under cook it (which brings a whole lot of other issues up), but not cooking beef to the requested temp is just bad customer service.

St. Fran is an older community, they're probably just paranoid about killing someone with undercooked meat

Well, how was the final product (besides not being to your preferred temp)?

Fairly good. I'd go back for the entertainment (they had a live Zydeco band) playing. The people that we were with enjoyed it and we enjoyed their company - so much so, that food at that point didn't really matter as much.

Not that old. It has a good younger generation. Not enough because it is hard to find affordable housing but it's getting better. A few nice subdivisions coming out.

My coworkers want to go to Magnolia Cafe every week for lunch.... and they hated The Francis
I am the odd one in the group.
I didn't care that much for Magnolia Cafe, but I liked The Francis
Every time we go to Magnolia, I order the Hamburger Steak but they never ask me how I want it cooked

My wife likes the Santa Fe chicken sandwiches. We haven’t been in awhile though. We are thinking about the Francis for the end of the year dinner at work.

I've had numerous places in BR that have told me they wouldn't cook my burger to medium. The most recent was BRQ. It's not as uncommon as you would think. I won't order the burger unless they will cook it to medium.
