green beans and wrapped in bacon, made a pepper jack cheese sauce with mushrooms and served with tempura style onion rings
My sister in law has been making that for the past few holidays and I love it. much better than the traditonal item.

I like green beans, I love bacon, but putting them together is like a forced marriage imo.

kind of the consensus with some of my family too, looks like I'll be making a traditional casserole , but I'll make the cream sauce from scratch....and I still wont use the canned onion things, I'll make real onion rings 1st.

Saw a recipe where they bundled the green beans and wrapped in bacon
We did that for my lodge dinner one night. It was delicious.

Blanched then charred fresh green beans in a skillet.
Sprinkled some onion salt.
Wrapped the bundles in bacon with a toothpick
Put in the oven.

So good. I bet they’d be good served in a plate with some gruyere cheese sauce over them.
