I don't understand all the hate here. I would eat the crap out of that and the only complaint that I have is that I don't want my onion rings to get into the gravy. That being said, IWEI. plating gets a 6/10. Very acceptable for an independent $$ restaurant. Absolutely not for a $$$ restaurant however.

I remember reading Flowers for Algernon when the narrator first reaches the cognitive ability to begin to (barely) comprehend punctuation marks and proceeds to nonsensically place them everywhere in his writing.
What the OP posted looks like the culinary equivalent. The person plating the food had heard about plating as a concept and vaguely remembered something about it and then let Jesus take the wheel.

That plate screams "my steak, which is so easy to get right, is mediocre at best"
