Gumbo, potato salad, bread pudding, and raisins are all good in their own rights. Why combine them?

No you are not. I put good potato salad on the side of my bowls of gumbo. Is there anybody against raisins in bread pudding???

Never put gumbo on potato salad, but put potato salad in gumbo.

Not if that's how you like it. I like raisins in bp but will never, ever drop potato salad in my bowl of gumbo. But it will always be on the side.

And if I'm being honest, it slightly perturbs me to see someone put potato salad into a beautiful, rich gumbo that I perfected the flavors in and babied through 3 hours of cooking.

But if that's how they like it, by all means....

The gumbo one pisses me off because it's another loophole to put mayo in something it has no business ever being even close to.

I love bread pudding, raisins don't make or break it for me. I have no problem with raisins in general.

Baked raisins. Bleh... One of the most disgusting things on the planet.

Gumbo on potato salad on the other hand is amazing, assuming both are prepared the right way.

I won't even eat tater salad by itself if it has mayo in it.

My wife loves raisins and will put them in bread pudding, apple pie, and a few other places I don't want to mention. I improved raisins by putting them in a jar and filling the jar with rum. Now these plump, macerated, little rum bombs are quite tasty and the rum left when the raisins are gone is pretty good too.

Mayo belongs in pretty much everything except PBJ sandwiches.

Well yeah, it's a PB and mayo sandwich. No jelly.

I may get triggered if I see someone slathering mayo on a tomahawk ribeye steak.

It's not that much different than butter. If you do it immediately and allow the proper rest, it's fantastic.
