It's probably okay, but I'd likely chunk it to be safe.

Eat it, the possibility of microorganism growth in that time frame is almost zero, heat it up fr a simmer in the gravy in the pot.

It likely stayed hot for a few hours and then hit room temp. I really don't know how many hours at room temp are considered safe for cooked beef, but I bet it's at least 5 to 8 or more...hell, eat it.

After taking microbiology courses in college, I would skip out on it.

Worst it could do is kill you.

Probably only give you a day or two of painful toilet time and possible dehydration.

If you get the bad beef runs, ride it out and do not try to stop it. You'll need to get the toxins out of your system. Just drink copious amounts of liquid.

Report back. No photos please. All of us have been there. It has the potential for creating a memory you'll keep with you a long time. I still can't take the smell of a Hardees Burger and it's been 35 years.

My background is in public medicine from the horses mouth, my mom was the head of the Dept. of Health for the state, and I can tell you that she would not have seen a problem with the simple re-heating of the roast at all given the brief amount of time that it was below the "safe" temperature for food.

If it were me, I'd still eat it, but I ignore most food safety things like that.

It's a gamble. MD gave you the risks. I'll make the odds. I say 3:1 you'll be ok. Any takers?

Just eat it. Think of the starving children in Africa.

3:1 that he'll be OK sounds low to me. I'd say maybe 10:1 he will be OK.

Downside is grim. I have seen people crying "Please make it stop!"

Kind'a funny if it's not you.

Keeping hydrated is the key to survival.

Saw movies of Cholera in Army. Amazing the amount of fluid coming out the sufferer's a-hole.

Of course, bad beef will not give you cholera.

This. Bunch of babies in here. If leaving something out overnight made you sick, I'd have been sick thousands of times in my life.

tough call. I have left meals on the stove for lunch and have reheated them for dinner.

I've done this twice recently with chili and pot roast.... Couldn't make myself keep it despite wanting to. I can't call out sick to work.

Of course you can.

ETA: Do you girls know what we were eating 100-200 years ago?
