Take it slow and when you get discouraged, just keep going.

Have any of you guys tried doing rowing machine for your cardio instead of the treadmill/bike? I get extremely bored on those and don't mind rowing at all, but don't know how long/fast I need to row for it to be adequate.

Haven't been on a scale since Thursday morning, but I did have to go to a wedding reception this weekend. Having been on Keto now for going on 8 weeks (week 8 started on Sunday) I managed to avoid the wedding cake and what everyone was calling the best brownies in the world. Stuffed my face with a plate full of a meat from Jim n Nicks and then watched everyone else shove cake and brownies in their face. Didn't even really have a craving for any of it, so turning it down wasn't an issue.

Former me would have probably ate a couple of brownies in front of people and then sneaked about 10 more privately to go along with a giant piece of cake :patsselfonback:

I have a concept 2 rower. It's a better cardio workout than running and biking, IMO. The rower is going to tax multiple areas of your body.

First thing you are going to want to do is watch some videos on Youtube about rowing technique. Then take what you learn and just fool around on one for a bit to get the feel. Go slow, feel the push through your legs, learn when to pull, etc

When you feel like you are ready, try this HIIT exercise

5 rounds

20 calorie row, max effort
rest 1 minute

Repeat 4 more times

If you think this is too easy for you (it wont be) then extend the amount of rounds. You will get more burn than any run or bike if you row hard.

There are tons of workouts out there

look around this website, there are some workouts on there too. Also look up some crossfit rowing workouts

Ok I think I get it.

8 years of football, short military stint I was in awesome shape. 6-2 about 220 and solid.

10 years married, 3 kids and 50 hours a week in an office and I am a not a healthy person. I have pretended like I was going to get fit but it quickly falls off.

I have changed my diet to focus on lean meat and vegetables. I am walking 2.5 miles every day and mixing in some sprints on the end. It feels good but my struggle is consistency.

Goal is my where I was at my healthiest. 220

where you see the numbers, people are posting:

starting weight / current weight / goal weight

I follow a ultra-low carb, ketogenic diet, but recently introduced a weekly carb nite refeed.
